![]() I am not trying to escape paying Microsoft their due (we have three copies of FSX in our family!) I just like to experiment with the aircraft components and see what is possible in modifying them. In FSX, the G1000 is only present in the Deluxe version, and I haven't been able to copy a G1000 panel into an airplane in the FSX Standard version, so obviously Microsoft has fixed the code so you can't do this (and you have to buy the Deluxe version to get the G1000). Perhaps something has to be changed in the air.cfg code or even in the panel code itself to allow G1000 to work in the new airplane. Sometimes, aircraft and capabilities and the new panel do not match.īut with the G1000 there seems to be something else missing that will allow it to work properly when it is copied into another airplane. There are occasions when this doesn't work but rarely. This works very well and I have done this many times when I didn't like a given panel in a given airplane. What I've done numerous times is just delete the old panel (or put it away in a new folder in case I want it back) and then copy the new panel from another aircraft that has the one I want (or copy an add-on panel that I have downloaded from the Internet) and paste it into the Airplanes directory into the airplane whose panel I am "upgrading." I've never tried installing the separate components of a panel into an aircraft. ![]()
